Lush Love Potion Massage Bar

My next lush review is of one of the massage bar and this is from the valentines collection they released

What it Looks Like

What Lush Says

In days of yore, a young maiden with her eyes on a likely lad would ask the village wise woman for a love potion. These days a girl needs to take a more hands-on approach, so we’ve created this modern alternative which is sure to get you plenty of amorous attention from your special someone.
Love Potion is a massage bar with a difference. As well as the soft, melty cocoa and shea butters we’ve added some cornflour to the mix, which absorbs excess oils. So when the massage is over, you’ll be left with skin that feels soft and touchable, but not greasy.
Love Potion is perfumed with our best-selling Love fragrance; a light, sexy apple scent with citrusy top notes to inspire devotion.

Ingredients

Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Cornflour, Apple Blossom and Orris Root Infusion, Fair Trade Olive Oil, Kaolin, Perfume, Fresh Carnation, Bergamot Oil, Jasmine Absolute, Lemongrass Oil, Rose Absolute, Ylang Ylang Oil, Magnesium Carbonate, Snowflake Lustre, *Benzyl Alcohol, *Benzyl Salicylate, *Cinnamal, Coumarin, *Eugenol, *Geraniol, *Isoeugenol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Citronellol, *Famesol, *Limonene, *Citral, *Linalool, Colour 73360

Cocoa Butter: The butter is a natural emulsifier and softening for the skin. It is said to effectively relieve itchy, dry skin when applied topically.

Lemongrass Oil: Lemongrass oil is antiseptic, deodorant, and toning. In aromatherapy, it is used as an antidepressant and mood lifting oil, as well as for problem skin.

My Thoughts

This is the first massage bar I have ever tried and I am tempted to try others after using this one. To use this product you warm it up in your hands and rub the oil all over the body. This massage bar melts easily in your hands. I love the feeling of this on my skin, I love to use oils on my skin but i hate the residue you can get after using them however this product doesnt leave a nasty residue . It left my skin highly moisturised and the scent lingers for ages. When I apply this I don't feel the need to wear a perfume as this smeels strong enough on the skin. I am in love with this product

Have you used the massage bars from lush? Which ones do you like ?

Lush Curly Wurly Review

I am loving Lush products at the moment and have been trying a variety of their products recently. One product I have enjoyed using in Curly Wurly. As I have curly hair I decided this may be a good product for me.

What The Products Look Like

What Lush Says

To control thick, curly hair:makes it soft and shiny and smooth. Deeply moisturising, emollient shampoo with 15% coconut for condition.

Ingredients

Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Desiccated Coconut, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Water, Fresh Organic Lemon Juice, Glyceryl Stearate & PEG-100 Stearate, Perfume, Linseed Infusion, Fresh Papaya, Lauryl Betaine, Fresh Free Range Eggs, Cocoa Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Organic Jojoba Oil, Avocado Butter, Vanilla Absolute, Vetivert Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Alkanet Extract, Lanolin, Cetrimonium Bromide, *Coumarin

Avocado Butter: Thius is very nourishing and is great for dry unruly hair

Fresh Organic Lemon Juice: This is used to keep the jhair shiny and tone the scalp.

Fresh Free Range Eggs: This is used to condition the hair

My Thoughts

First thing about this product is the texture of this product. It is very thick and contains bits of coonut. This product is surpose to be used as a shampoo but I don't  use it as a shampoo. I apply this to my hair with conditioner. Sice using this my hair has felt so much softer and it leaves my hair smelling great. It leaves a scent in your hair for days after which is amazing. The one down side is that it takes a while to wash out the hair and can leave the shower in a mess but it is worth it.

Haircare Routine

My hair is one thing i kept complemented on quite often. I love my hair and don't want to change it at all. At the moment my hair is dyed Red which I am loving. I have found that red suits me really well and have had people think i am a redhead or told me that the colour suits me. The colour my hair is dyed at the moment is Vibrant red

Brief Description of My Hair

My hair is very long and very curly. My curls are generally ringlets, it can be very dry and frizzy at times. My hair is also prone to knots but it doesn't get really greasy often which I love. My hair isn't to damaged as i don't use hot tools often but I have been dying it for half a year which isn't great for your hair.

What I use

I don't like to use a lot of products on my hair as it tends to weigh down my hair and then ringlets don't form and my hair will look limp and lifeless. Generally the only products I use are shampoo and conditioner, sometimes i will use a curl tamer and hairspray if i style my hair which i don't do often.

The shampoo I am using at the moment is Bed Head Foxy curls. This is a sulphate free shampoo which is better for your hair than shampoos containing sulphates

I also like to use Lush Curly Wurly

Run out of condtioner so need to find a new one

What I do to my hair

I like to wash my hair every 3 days this is because washing your hair everyday strips your hair of it's natural oils which you don't want to do. This can also cause your hair to become more greasy as you will begin to produce more oil. I am pretty lucky that my hair doent get greasy often so I can get away with not washing my hair for a few days.

When I wash my hair I wish apply the shampoo to my scalp and run it through all my hair and massaging it in. I will then rinse this out.I will then apply Lush Curly Wurly to the bottom 2 thirds of my hair. I will also apply my conditioner to the bottom 2 thirds. I will then comb this through my hair after 5 to 10 minutes. I will then rinse this out my hair. I then allow my hair to air dry as this is the best way for your hair to dry, I never use a hairdryer as it damages your hair and generally leaves my hair feeling really dry and frizzy, never a good look

What is your hair care routine? What products do you like or use?

Lush Ocean Salt Review

I have recently added lush products to my skicare riutine and I have loved how  my skin is now. In the last month and a half I have only worn foundation once and that was because I was going out for the evening mainly for photos. I have decided to review each new product I have been using

This time I will review the Ocean Salt facial scrub. So lets get on with the review

What The Product Looks Like

What Lush Says

"We Take The lime and the coconut (and grapefruit and sea salt) and mix them up tog4ether in our stimulating, fruity, vodka based face scrub. For a complexion that glows"

Ingredients

Fine Sea Salt, Fresh Grapefruit Infusion, Coarse Sea Salt, Stearic Acid, Fresh Organic Lime Extracted in Vodka, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Triethanolamine, Avocado Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Lime Oil, Lime Oil, Seaweed Absolute, Violet Leaf Absolute, Glycerine, Lanolin, Cetearyl Alcohol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Colour 42090, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Coarse Sea Salt: This is great for removing dead skin on your face. The sea salt also acts as a good cleanser as it removes oil fro the face and it also has antibacterial properties

Fresh Organic Lime Extracted in Vodka: This is used for its antibacterial properties. This is good as it prevents spots and blackheads.

Avocado Butter: This hydrates the skin preventing it from drying out

My Thoughts

This scrub is very abrasive so i do not use this on a day to day basis , I use it every 3 days. I love the smell of this scrub reminds me of zesty cocktail which I do like. This scrub has some very large salt granules so when apply this I don't rub this on the skin to much as it can damage the top layer of skin. This has left my skin feeling so soft and that all the dead skin has been removed. It also leaves my skin feeling really moisturised.Since using this I have noticed an improvement in my skin. I reccommened this to any one who gets small bumps on your nose as this has worked wonders on mine they have been gone and not returned since I have used this.

What are your thoughts on this product? What face scrubs do you like?

Lush Cupcake Face Mask Review

Lush cupcake mask is one product ive been wanting to try for a while. I have heard many blogger and youtubers mention this product and saying how good it is so I finally decided to try it.

Cupcake is a thick mud mask aimed towarss teenage skin/acne sufferers. I personally do not have very oily spot prone skin but i still wanted to try it.

So here is what the product looks like

Don't I look Sexy

What lush says

"It's action removes excess oil and calms breakouts. Rhassoul mud cleans and soothes. Cocoa butter, linseed and cocoa butter softens the skin. balancing peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils complete the effective and delicious experience."

Ingredients

Rhassoul Mud, Linseed Infusion, Glycerine, Talc, Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Butter, Fresh Mint, Sandalwood Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Spearmint Oil, Peppermint Oil, *Limonene, Perfume

Rhassoul mud has the property of extracting oil which is great for oily skin as ant excess oil can be removed preventing spots

Glycerine is a water absorbing molecule, it can carry the effective ingredient to the where it is need other than the product just laying on the skin

Peppermint oil is used to cool the skin as it causes blood vessels to dilate

My thoughts

the first thing you notice about this product is the smell, It smells like mint chocolate which is lovely , it smells delicous to me, unfortunely it is not to be eaten. the mask on aplication is very thick and can be crumbly especially if it is not kept in the fridge. This product is easy to apply and use. I leave this a mask on for 10 minutes and then wash it off in the shower. This mask drys on your face and feels tight on the skin which is a weird but good feeling. You can also smell this product on your face. Once I have removed this product my skin looks fresh and feels so soft, any product on my face has also been removed. Since using this product I have had no breakouts even at the time of the month. I am thinking of buying this again and would reccomened this to anyone.

This product is alo suitible for vegans

What are your thoughts and Cupcake? Do you have any face mask recommendations?

January Favourites

Seeing as this is a very popular thing for bloggers to do I thought I would join the bandwagon on this . So here is my first favourites of the year

Lush Cupcake Face Mask

I have only started to use a face mask once a week and I have fallen in love with this one. Once I have washed this off my skin feels so soft and it doesnt feel like my skin has been completely stripped of the oils you need which I have found with some masks before i definately reccomened this

Kylie Minogue Dazzling Darling

This is my new everyday perfume. It is very light and girly with a slight musk scent to it. I find it very long lasting and I love the classy packaging

Mac Opulash

This has become my favourite mascara, I tend to pick this up from day to day to apply to my lashes. This gives the apperance of fake lashes which is great to set off any eye look

Body shop Passion Fruit Shower Gel and Body Butter

I am in love with this scent it is amazing. The shower gel is really good quality and foams really well and again it smells awesome. The body butter is lovely and thick leaving my skin felling highly moisturised and the smell lingers for ages which is great. I love body shop products. I am starting to buy more of their scent recently.

My Skincare Routine

What is my skin like?

I personally would class my skin as normal. Not to sound like im boasting but I dont have many problems with my skin. I have never had a problem with acne even though I am a teenager. I will occasionally get a random spot. My skin can be sensitive to some products so I try not to change up my skincare routine a lot. Now and then I can get dry spots on my face but nothing a bit of sudocream doesnt clear up. I do have one problem with my skin, I have a skin and blood disorder which causes me to have allergic reactions and even mild reactions my face will come up blotchy and red which can be a pain however it goes after a while. Recently I have been getting little bumps on my nose so I decided to change my skincare routine and my new skin care routine has helped.

Morning
 The products I use

I first will wash my face with warm water and a little soap. I will then apply a small blob ofPonds cleansing milk to tissue and wipe this all over my face to remove any leftover dirt. I spray around 3 pumps of Lush eau roma water all over my face and remove it with a tissue . This tones the face and removes any cleanser or any leftover dirt. The last step is my moisturiser at the moment I use Lush enzymion.

Evening
The products I use

My evening routine is bascially the same as my morning routine there is only one extra step. This step is after my moisturiser and it is my eye cream. The eyecream I use is Avon anew clinical eye lift. This has a gel for the upper eye area and a cream for the lower area. I apply this at night as the skin can absorb this over night without having makeup put on top of it.

Every Three Days

Every 3 days I like to scrub my face. This removes any dead skin on my face. I carry this out every 3 days as it is quite harsh on the skin so shouldn't be carried out every day. The scrub I use is Lush ocean salt. This scrub leaves my skin feeling so soft. I will use the scrub in the shower.

Once A Week

Usually every sunday I will treat my skin to a face mask. This I do once a week to clean my skin of any impurites. the mask im using at the moment is Lush cupcake. This is a thick mud mask which is great for drawing out any imurities in the skin. I will apply my face mask all over my face avoiding the area around my eyes. I will leave this on for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes I will wash off the face mask with warm water and pat it dry with a towel then undergo my normal evening routine.

Tips for great looking skin
  1. Drink plenty of water- this is very important it flushes out any toxins in the body , I personally drink water all the time and I think that is one of the main reasons my skin is pretty good
  2. Try to wear makeup as little as possible- bascially have at least one day a week when you don't wear any makeup, preferably more than one day but if you can't go out with out makeup try to wear less of it , even when I do wear makeup I try not to wear to many face products I tend to stick to just to concealer. This allows your skin to breathe more and your pores end up less clogged up
  3. Remove your makeup before bed- This is rather important as it allows your face to breathe over night, I personally don't do this every day mainly if I've been out and had a little to drink (like most students) but I try my best to remove my makeup most nights
I hope this helps some of you to improve your skin,

My lush collection

This is my lush collection at the present time
I have been a fan of lush for years since my mum loved the bath bombs and bubble bars and when ever I went shopping with her in Lakeside and going round the shop and picking one bath bomb for my self.  I remember always picking Think Pink mainly for the colour. Since then I have loved trying the different bath bombs and bubble bars lush has came out with. Only recently I have started to venture into the other products they do. These are the ones I have at the moment a mix of hair body and face products

Rock Star Soap (£5.07 for 0.156kg chunk)

This soap has been a favourite of mine for years. It is a lovely pink creamy soap with a very girly sweet smell. This is definatley one of my most repurchased lush products

Angel Delight Soap (Unknown Price came in a set)

This is another sweet smelling soap reminds me of jelly bean sweets, This is the soap that I am currently using. I love the smell of this soap and also it has gold glitter on it which sometimes ends up left on your hands.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel (Unknown Price came in a set)

This is the only shower gel of lush's that I have ever used,. This is a very popular product made by lush like the two previous products it is pink and girly sweet smell. I havent used thia product in  a few years

Whoosh Shower Jelly( £3.50 for 100g)

At the moment I have been loving citrus smells which lead me to this product. This is a fresh citrus smelling product. The product it self is easy to use and lather really well. You only need a small amount of product for your whole body.

Shimmy Shimmy Massage Bar ( £4.00 a bar)

This massage bar has quite a soft kind of powdery smell. it it very glittery and melts at body temperature. I havent used this product yet so havent got much to say about this product

Sweet Lips Lip Scrub (£4.95 for 25g)

This is great for dry winter lips. Just apply this whenever you feel the need to a scrub away the dead skin. It has an amazing choclate smell and also tastes great.

Curly Wurly Conditioning Shampoo ( £9.50 for 220g)

I was drawn to this product because of the the name. I have curly hair that has a mind of its own. This product is a very thick shampoo with tonnes of coconut pieces in it which is a litle strange for a shmpoo. The coconut does take a little longer to get out but it does smell great if you love cocnut. Ive only used this once so can't really review this just yet

Eau Roma Water ( £7.00 for 250g)

This is so refreshing when sprayed on the face. It makes the skin fell soft and clean. It also has a light scent and isnt overpowering. A great toner

Cupcake Face Mask (£5.75 for 75g)

This is a mud mask that smells of choclate. Once applied to the skin the mask hardens . This leaves my skin feeling super moisturised and and had all the dirt removed. I would buy this again once I run out.

Ocean Salt ( £6.75 for 120g)

This face scrub reminds me of the ocean . It smells like being on holiday to me. Ive been using this for a weak in combination with the other skin priducts and the bumps I usually get on my nose have completely disapppeared and my skin feels so soft.

Enzymion ( £13.50 for 45g)

This moisturiser is a lovely fruity smelling product. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated . I am loving this product

Full reviews of the products will up when I have used them over a longer period of time.
